Doggos
ABOUT THE SONG
The simplest interpretation of the song is that it’s a “break-up song”, but the more exciting aspect is what happens to the personalities and life paths of two people who part ways after a long time together. The discourse between the inner negative self and the self that wants to evolve/progress. When you start to focus on why you don’t feel good in your life and start to work on it, there is an ongoing struggle with negative perceptions. You learn that, although it is part of your life, you don’t necessarily have to surrender to it, but it’s not a tragedy if you do sometimes.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
I am writing as the publisher of the band Doggos; here are a few thoughts about the band: Formed at the end of 2017, Doggos easily maneuvers between pop, indie, and glam-rock. At their concerts, anything can happen, from tight garage riffing to multi-minute, kitschy power ballads. The band from Pécs first appeared at the KERET blog’s talent scout called ‘Kikeltető.’ Since then, they have performed at festivals including Ördögkatlan, Művészetek Völgye, Pécsi Egyetemi Napok, Fekete Zaj, and Kolorádó. They have toured as guests for Carson Coma, Margaret Island, and Ricsárdgír, and they also have three Hungarian Music Video Review (Magyar Klipszemle) nominations to their name.
In 2022, they were selected for the Hangfoglaló Program’s sub-program for emerging bands. Within this framework, they released their first Hungarian-language composition titled “Hozzám van szerencséd.” The music video was followed in 2023 by the release “Klór,” and then by their first EP in their native language.
